Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him without words and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman targeting people of migrant background in 2020.
